The garage door: which one to choose?

Garage doors make it possible to close a shelter containing a car but also a possible motorcycle to limit access. The garage door is therefore available in different models with different types of openings.

Sectional garage door

This type of garage door allows a vertical opening. You must have already seen this model with a door that fits under the garage ceiling. Two rails installed in parallel allow the garage door to slide very easily and often manually.

What are the advantages of this type of door?

The sectional garage door is very practical and also has a small footprint. It also does not allow outside air to pass inside a garage. The rails also do not interfere with the door's main movement. This one will be integrated in an ideal way in any construction. The door opening system can be fully automatic by adding a motor to perform this operation.

However, a sectional garage door costs a little money and is therefore a little more expensive to buy. In order to obtain an excellent longevity in time, the owner of a garage will have to choose materials of high quality to preserve an excellent durability.

Sliding garage door

The opening system of this type of door is carried out in a lateral way. The concept is the same as the sectional garage door but with a side opening angle. The articulated panels will thus follow a completely lateral movement. However, installing this type of door remains quite simple.

Rolling garage door

Similar to a roller shutter, this type of door consists of several aluminum slats fixed one on the other in a rather simple way. The opening is thus made vertically and the tray is rolled up into a secure box.

The door opening system saves space inside and outside. This will also allow you to obtain an excellent thermal system ideal in all points. For example, if you have a garage attached to your home, this opening system will be ideal for saving energy. However, the roll-up garage door is quite difficult to open with a manual system. You will need to install a garage remote control to facilitate its daily opening.

The swing type door

This garage door is often found in private homes. Two wings open to the outside. From a price point of view, this type of door is truly affordable in price. The interior space will also be preserved. The door can be equipped with a motor to facilitate its initial opening. Be careful though, this type of door will not be suitable for houses located along the road.
